Biography
Graduated with an honor Master of Chemical Engineering from the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava. PhD Thesis at Polymer Institute, Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava and Institute of Macro molecular Chemistry, Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences in Prague. DSc Thesis (allowed to submit only after political change in 1989) at Slovak Academy of Sciences and Slovak Technical University Bratislava. Employed at Polymer Institute, Slovak Academy of Sciences (PI SAS) in Bratislava since 1960. 1992-1995 elected member of the Presidium of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. Served as President of the Slovak Chemical Society, Chairman of the Czecho-Slovak and Slovak National Committee of Chemistry for the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry and as Member of the Board of the Federation of European Chemical Societies. Corresponding member of the Central European Academy of Sciences, Bucharest, Romania, and member of the Learned Society of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava, Slovakia. Former titular member of IUPAC Polymer division and Chairman of Subcommittee of molecular characterization of synthetic polymers. Topics: Thermodynamics and hydrodynamics of multi component polymer systems; liquid chromatography of synthetic polymers - author of five original methods for separation of complex polymer systems; preparation and application of micro porous carbon fibers. Author or co-author of two monographs on liquid chromatography and 250+ scientific papers in extenso published in refereed periodicals (150+ in the Current Contents covered Journals), and in proceedings and chapters of books, as well as 60+ patents (four of them were licensed) - cited more than 2,000 times in SCI journals and monographs. Presented over one hundred and ten invited plenary, key and main lectures, as well as over 900 lectures short communications and poster contributions during congresses, symposia and conferences and during lecturing tours to over forty countries. Elected „Slovak scientist of the year 1999“ and „Slovak innovator of the year 2002“.

Biography
Zhenfu Luo, male, born in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province in June, 1963, is a professor of mineral processing, China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT). Zhenfu Luo is the editor in chief of International Journal of Mining Science and Technology, a member of editorial board of International Journal of Coal Preparation and Utilization, Journal of Mining and Metallurgy and the Open Mineral Processing Journal. Zhenfu Luo entered Tianjin University in September, 1982, and had been studying applied math for 4 years, and in September, 1986, was working as an assistant in the CUMT after graduating there in June that year. In July, 1993, Zhenfu Luo was enrolled to study in the school of chemical engineering and technology of CUMT as a doctoral graduate on mineral processing, and had been studying there for 3 years and got the doctor’s degree in July, 1996. Since September, 1986 up to now, Zhenfu Luo has been teaching and researching mineral processing, especially coal preparation, clean coal technology and dry separation theory and technology, in CUMT. Zhenfu Luo published more than 180 papers in international journals, Chinese journals and symposiums, including Separation Science and Technology, International Journal of Mineral Processing, Fuel Processing Technology, Fuel, etc., and applied 10 invention patents in USA and China. In last two decades, Zhenfu Luo completed more than 20 scientific research projects and won many awards, including the third class award of national technical invention, the first class award of science and technology advancement of Ministry of Education of China.

Biography
Francisco Márquez was born in Valencia (Spain) and received his Bachelor and Master´s degree in Biochemistry at the University of Valencia in 1988 and 1989, respectively, and his Doctor´s degree in Physical Chemistry at the University of Valencia in 1992. He spent two years from 1990 as Director of the laboratories of Futura Medical S.A. and one year as research associate at the V-I S.A. Laboratories. From 1994 he worked as a postdoctoral associate at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. In 2001 he was an Associate Professor at the Jaime I University, and subsequently he moved to the School of Natural Sciences and Technology at the University of Turabo in Puerto Rico, USA, as Full Professor.
Research Interest
His research interests are mainly directed toward photophysics of organic compounds in confined spaces, Li-ion batteries, hydrogen technology and most recently the synthesis and applications of nanotubes and nanowires. He is Editor-in-Chief of Soft Nanoscience Letters and Advances in Energy Research. Francisco Márquez is author of over 100 scientific publications and twelve patents and is currently the head of the Nanomaterials Research Group at the University of Turabo.
